LCD CONNECTION METHODS
There are several connection methodologies used by the LCD industry.
They are as follows:
  1. Dual-in-Line pins (DIL pins)

  2. ELASTOMERIC CONNECTORS (Zebra strips)

  3. ANISOTROPIC CONNECTORS (Flex connectors)

DIL pins work well in harsh environments, permitting rapid, self-aligning connection to printed circuit boards via plug in strip sockets. Zebra strips, which are made out of conductive rubber compounds, are typically used for complete LCD modules since they are resistant to shock and vibration. Flex connectors are suitable for applications where the display might be moveable, e.g. cellular phones, notebook or handheld computers.
